Michael Marini has had his share of bad luck and setbacks, including the unexpected breakup of his 10-year marriage to his high school sweetheart Liz. Plus, he has had to move back in with his mother who is still best friends with his ex-mother-in-law and of course blames him for everything. What is keeping him sane these days, however, is his gelateria, a popular local Italian ice cream shop he has built into a successful little business with his longtime partner, Enzo Soldini. The shop is his place of respite, where he relieves his stress by creating the most delectable ice cream desserts in the city, much to the delight of his diverse clientele. When he falls head over heels for beautiful stranger he sees at his bus stop, things start looking up.
