Canada Town: Le Voci dal Molise
During World War II, the Italian town of Campobasso, nestled in the Molise region, was occupied by German forces. As part of the Allied campaign in Italy, Canadian troops played a vital role in the town's liberation in October 1943. This event left a lasting impression on the townspeople, who began affectionately referring to their home as “Canada Town.” Through a captivating mix of archival footage, expert interviews, and personal testimonies from Italian Canadians, this documentary explores how this historical moment forever shaped the identity of those with roots in Campobasso. With testimonials from back home in Canada and the exclusive access to this area already granted to our production team, Canada Town: Voci dal Molise will be an important addition to TLN Media Group’s ‘I Remember’ series which chronicles and captures the firsthand accounts of Italian Canadians as children war during WWII. Other projects in this series have included: Operazione Husky, the awardwinning MonteCassino: L’Abbazia Indistruttibile, the awardwinning Ortona: La Stalingrado Canadese, San Pietro Infine:Una Città Perduta and Gotica.
